Connector standards used in India

Passenger EVs sold in India use Type 2 for AC charging and, for DC fast charging, either CCS2 or, on older vehicles, Bharat DC-001. Electric two-wheelers use a range of connector formats that vary by manufacturer.

Home charging

A dedicated Type 2 wall-box (typically 3.3 kW, 7.4 kW, or 11 kW three-phase) is the most common installation for a passenger EV. The right size depends on your daily kilometres, sanctioned electrical load and whether your society allows a separate meter or line.

Public networks

Several public charging networks operate in India, spanning highway DC fast-charging, urban DC/AC installations, and dedicated retail-partner locations. Coverage varies significantly by corridor and city; independent uptime and reliability data are published by some networks and by third-party trackers.
